EBAD seeks an experienced and motivated engineer for the position Mechanical Engineer - Electronics Packaging, reporting to the Manager, Electrical Systems Product Development.
The Electronics Packaging Engineer has primary responsibility for the mechanical design, analysis and manufacturing of space & defense hardware. This would include printed circuit card assemblies, electrical connectors, mechanical enclosures, and explosive devices.
The candidate will be responsible for the following items:
Design of electronic assemblies containing flex, rigi-flex, and rigid printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
Printed circuit board integration into mechanical enclosures
Electrical connector selection
Hermetic electronics enclosure design
Design for manufacturing with a focus on electronic assemblies
Design for harsh environments survivability (wide temperature range, high-g, high vibration)
3D solid modeling of mechanical enclosures (Solidworks) and electronics assemblies (Altium Designer®)
Performing mechanical analysis including structural, thermal, and vibration
Rapid prototyping & interface with suppliers
Creation of models, drawings, design review content
The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 6+ years of experience.
Required experience includes:
3+ years of experience with electronics enclosures
Requirements compliance assessment
Familiarity circuit boards including with surface mount technology
3D CAD packages, specifically SolidWorks
Possess a strong knowledge of material properties used in electronic packaging Product Configuration Change management
