Engineering Design and AnalysisEBA&D's product development staff are experts in the design and analysis of reliable energetic solutions for aerospace and defense applications. From launch vehicle flight termination systems to military breaching systems, EBA&D is a leader in developing energetic component and system solutions for use in mission critical applications. We maintain a broad technical skill set, utilizing modern design and analysis tools, and investing in training and development of our personnel. Solid Modeling and DesignEBA&D utilizes the CoCreate family of solid modeling, drafting, and product data management software, including SolidDesigner, ME10, and Workmanager. Starting in 1992, EBA&D was an industry pioneer in the use of these tools for product design, and continues to maintain a strong capability in this area. EBA&D utilizes data transfer through IGES, STEP, and other standardized formats to communicate electronic technical data to our customers and suppliers. In addition, we maintain on-site capability for rapid prototyping and rapid machining, driving directly off of our solid model database. Mechanical Analysis EBA&D was a pioneer in the application of computational mechanics to understand ordnance device function and design. ANSYS is used for structural and thermal analysis, and EBA&D is experienced in using this tool for linear and non-linear analysis, as well as for evaluating transient, quasi-static, and static events. Short duration, explosive transient events are evaluated using LS-DYNA and CTH, providing EBA&D with capability in both Lagrangian and Eulerian computational hydrocode methods. Additionally, EBA&D performs thermochemical/ballistic analysis using CHEETAH, NASA/LEWIS, and BLAKE. Kinematic analysis is performed using MSC's Working Model software. ![]() hydrocode modeling
Electrical Design and AnalysisEBA&D has continually demonstrated our ability to advance the state of the art in electronic firing architecture, with complete design capability for schematic generation, board layout, breadboarding, and prototype fabrication. EBA&D has capability for the design of both standard and microcircuits, with a thorough understanding of communication protocols, military and aerospace ordnance safing requirements, and firing circuit architecture. Circuit design is performed using P-CAD, with Labview used as a circuit test platform. Additionally, several different software/firmware development packages are used for the development of embedded code. Document and Data Control EBA&D utilizes the Workmanager Product Data Management system to control our drawings and manufacturing documentation. Certified to ISO9001:2000 and AS9100, our configuration management system provides electronic access to our employees for all approved documentation, reducing paper logistics and the improving communication of document and drawing changes. |
