Thrust Termination

Description

The Thrust Termination System (TTS) provides a method for controlling the thrust of a solid rocket motor. A TTS can be used to cut holes into the dome of the motor releasing the combustion gases, thus, terminating the motor's thrust. The functional component of a TTS is a ring shaped Linear Shaped Charge Assembly that provides the cutting power necessary to penetrate the dome. Other key features are Flexible Confined Detonating Cord Assemblies for signal transfer and multi port manifolds that redundantly distribute the command signals to several dome cutting charges.
