A piston actuator uses an electrically initiated pyrotechnic charge to drive a piston and perform work.

Typical features of EBA&D piston actuators include:
  • Complete structural confinement
  • Output force sufficient to produce a .020" dent in 1018 steel with Rockwell hardness B95,or modifiable to meet customer requirements
  • Lightweight
  • One ampere/one watt: No Fire
  • 3.6 ampere: All Fire
