Center Core Burster

Description

The Center Core Burster (CCB) assembly is used to dispense submunitions in a tactical missile system. The CCB booster cup receives an input stimulus from the missile fuze. The booster cup transfers the stimulus to the CCB igniter cord which ignites the CCB propellant charge.

Controlled reaction rate and energy release is provided by the aluminum alloy tube, while an EBA&D Hot Line® ignition cord provides rapid radial ignition of propellant. An elastomeric bladder provides an attenuated energy transfer to the submunitions. Through variable propellant loading, core length, and confinement structure, meeting the dispensing requirements of various submunition packages is readily achieved.
